Marion Baylor Obituary
Marion F. Baylor January 14, 1931 – September 30, 2025
Marion F. Baylor, 94, of Herkimer, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at Little Falls Hospital with her loving family by her side.
Born on January 14, 1931, in Ilion, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Helen (Patrick) Pooler. Marion grew up in Ilion, where she was raised with strong family values, a warm heart, and a deep faith that guided her throughout her life. She was of the Catholic faith and carried that spirit of kindness and compassion in the way she lived each day.
On April 1, 1950, she married Albert R. Baylor. Together, they built a beautiful family. She was blessed with children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought Marion immense pride and joy.
Marion worked at Canteen Co. in the cafeteria at Remington Arms and later in the laundry department at Ilion Hospital. She was a dedicated worker, but her greatest devotion was always to her family. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who cherished every moment spent with her family.
Marion found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved spending time at camp, sitting by the fire on cool evenings, and watching fireworks light up the night sky. Sundays were especially meaningful to her, as she delighted in watching movies with her son Alan, creating memories that will forever be treasured. Nothing made her smile more than being surrounded by her grandchildren.
Her warmth, kindness, and caring nature touched all who knew her. She had a gift for making people feel loved and welcome, and her gentle spirit will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
Marion is survived by her devoted sons Alan Baylor (Dianne) of Little Falls and Larry Baylor (Marcia) of Herkimer; her sister Catherine Edwards of Richmond, West Virginia; her son-in-law David Miller of Mohawk; her 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends who will carry her memory with love.
She was predeceased by her husband Albert, her parents Charles and Helen, her daughter Beth Miller, her brother Charles Pooler, sister-in-law Hanna of California, and brother-in-law Edward of North Carolina.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Marion's life at a graveside service on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Mohawk Cemetery Annex on State Route 28, Mohawk, Vickerman Hill.
Marion's life was a beautiful testament to love, family, and faith. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of warmth and kindness will remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her.
