Michael Joseph “Mike” Wildey, age 45, a lifelong resident of Ilion, passed away early Wednesday morning, October 15, 2025, in the comfort of his home with his loved ones.
Born on January 20, 1980, Michael is the son of Katherine Wildey and the late Jeffrey Wildey. He was raised and educated in Ilion, graduating from Ilion High School. On July 12, 2009, he married the former Lena Johnston and together they have spent a total of 22 years together (married for 16).
He loved sports. He was an avid NY Yankees and Miami Dolphins fan. But most of all he loved his family and friends. He loved working on cars and four-wheelers.
Michael leaves behind his wife of sixteen years, Lena Wildey, at home; his son, Jeffrey Wildey; and his daughter, Courtney Wildey and girlfriend, Cherea Ford. One thing he cherished the most was the arrival of his soon-to-be granddaughter, Aubrianna Ford. He also leaves his mother, Katherine; his father-in-law, Phil Johnston; his sister, Julie Lacelle and husband, David; along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, in-laws and many longtime friends.
He was predeceased by his father, Jeffrey Wildey, his mother-in-law, Leona Johnston and his cousin, Dan Ingerham.
The Wildey family will gather at a later date and time to celebrate Michael’s life. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Enea, Ciaccia & Applegate funeral directors. Online notes of sympathy may be left at www.eneafamily.com.
