Nelson Call Obituary

Nelson W. Call, 64, of Verona, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Oneida Health Hospital Emergency Room after being stricken at work. He was born on August 30, 1960, in Buffalo, NY, the son of Walter C. and Lenora J. (Redeye) Call. On February 2, 2002, Nelson was united in marriage to Patricia Schmidt. Nelson was employed as a delivery driver for Oneida Indian Nation Enterprises for over twenty years. Nelson was a native of the Oneida Indian Nation. He enjoyed camping and spending time with family and friends. Surviving besides his loving wife, Patricia; are three children, Melanie (Mike) Gentile, of Lockport, NY, Elizabeth Menclewicz-Cline, of Orchard Park, and Angela Menclewicz (Mark Batch), of North Tonanwanda; eight grandchildren, Alexander, Benjamin, and Kailyn Gentile, Eva, Owen and Lucy Cline, and Sophia and Lilly Batch; three brothers, David (Phanakhone) Call, of Ithaca, Paul Call, of Oneida, and Elwood Call, of Buffalo; his mother-in-law, Joan Schmidt, of Lancaster; and several nieces and nephews. Nelson was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Lenora; and his brother, George W. Call. Family and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Ironside Funeral Home, Inc., 342 Main St., Oneida.
