Phyllis Hoffman

Phyllis (Glanzrock) Hoffman was born on November 16, 1927. She was the youngest daughter of David and Sarah and was the last surviving member of her nuclear family. She married Ben Hoffman on June 27, 1948. They shared 65 years together until his passing in December of 2014. Together, Phyllis and Ben loved to dance-often tearing up the dance floor with a grace and joy that turned heads. Their marriage produced three children: Cathy, Eric and Patricia.

Phyllis was a beautiful woman who was fashionable and avant garde both in her clothing and her artistic talent. She was an accomplished knitter and created many modes of art. She took great care and joy in how she presented herself, enjoying a splash of bling.

If you knew Phyllis, you loved her; for her genuine smile, her feisty nature and her clear moral code. She loved to laugh, enjoyed fine dining, the symphony, and the Broadway Theatre Guild. She volunteered at Frederik Meijer Botanical and Sculpture Gardens for over 20 years. Phyllis loved to be busy, and in her time at Beacon Hill at Eastgate volunteered many hours for various projects.

Phyllis loved her children and was a remarkable grandmother to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She celebrated the achievements of her progeny with delight and pride. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
