Raymond Malachowski Obituary

Raymond Malachowski, Sr. Stittville Raymond Malachowski, Sr., 89, of Stittville, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 with his loving family by his side. He was born on January 30, 1936 in Utica, a son of the late, Zygmund and Frances (Robak) Malachowski and was educated in Utica schools. Ray proudly served his country in the US Army from 1958 – 1960. On October 24, 1964, he was united in marriage to Shirley Patterson in St. Anthony's Church, Utica and shared a blessed union of almost 61 years. Ray was employed with General Electric Company on Bleecker St., Utica as a Radio Receiver, retiring in 1986 after 33 years of service. Following retirement Ray volunteered many hours and was an active member of the St. Gregory's Club, tending bar. He was also a member of the Stittville VFW Post 8259. Ray was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a huge fan of sports, especially baseball, supporting his favorite team the Boston Red Sox. Ray enjoyed admiring and planting trees in the places he called home. He was very proud of his Polish heritage. In his younger years, Ray enjoyed fishing, but most of all, he cherished the time he spent doing various activities with his children and their families. Surviving are his wife, Shirley, Stittville; daughter, Bonnie Malachowski, Clinton; son, Raymond (JoAnne Clawson) Malachowski, Jr., Holland Patent; grandchildren, Katelyn Malachowski, Lindsey Langdon and Darcey Malachowski; very special great grandson, Kason Wilson; great granddaughter, McKenzie Russitano; sisters, Irene Talerico and Elizabeth Comito and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Eleanor Partipello and Jane Mazur and brothers, Walter, Joseph and Edward Malachowski. Ray's family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Stittville Fire Dept. and the Eastern Star Home Rehab Unit for all their wonderful care and compassion. In keeping with Ray's wishes, there will be no public calling hours. Funeral services will be at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Townsend Cemetery. Arrangements are with Dimbleby Funeral Homes, Inc., 40 Main St., Whitesboro. Remembrances in Ray's name may be made to the Stittville Fire Dept., 9069 Main St., Stittville, NY 13469.
