Sally M. Harrington Robins

Sally M. Harrington Robins, 93, of East Rochester, formerly of Batavia and Oneida, died Friday afternoon, February 21, 2025, in Highland Hospital, Rochester, following a respiratory illness of the last two weeks. Sally was born in Batavia on July 3, 1931, the daughter of Lester and Hazel (Tooley) Hagen. She was a graduate of Oakfield High School, class of 1950. She then went on to graduate from Doyle Beauty School in Buffalo. She was then employed at the William Hangers Department Store in Buffalo for several years. On October 6, 1956, she married Carl C. Harrington in Oakfield. Her beloved Carl died on August 4, 1978. She was a self-employed beautician and also worked in the food service department of the Oneida Hospital Extended Care Facility. She married James Robins in 1981 and later moved back to Batavia where she lived until 2016. The past 8 ½ yrs, she resided with her son and daughter in-law. Sally was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Batavia. While she lived in Oneida, she was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Sally was very outgoing and had a strong social network of friends and relatives, and was always sending cards and notes to stay in contact. Surviving are one son, Keith (Laurie) Harrington of East Rochester, a sister-in-law, Laura Hagen of Alexander; two granddaughters, Bethany (James) Aitkenhead and their children, Hudson and Elise, of Honeoye Falls and Erin (Jeremy) Fitzgerald and their son, Patrick of Fairport; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, William Hagen and Allen (Leota) Hagen. Memorial Services will be held on April 5, 2025, at 11:00 AM from the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 190 Oak St., Batavia. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the church. Spring Burial will be made in Oneida Castle Cemetery.
