Shane Bowen Obituary

Shane S. Bowen, Sr., 58, of Utica, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Wynn Hospital with his loving family by his side. Shane was born in Utica, on July 1, 1967, the son of Donald and Elaine (King) Bowen and received his education in Utica Schools. For many years, Shane was employed as a cook in the Utica area with his most recent being at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica, before he became paralyzed and in a wheelchair. He enjoyed WWE wrestling, going to the park on his electric scooter and especially loved a cold beer and a good cigar. He was a member of Cornerstone Community Church in Utica. Shane is survived by two sons Shane S. Bowen, Jr. Anthony Jerold six cherished grandchildren Jeremiah, Angelisa, Arielle Keegan, Emmett and Brayden one sister, Julie and one brother, Michael as well as his two best friends, Joe and Paul. He was predeceased by his parents, Donald and Elaine and sister, Michelle. In keeping with Shane's wishes, there are no calling hours and a private family service, to celebrate Shane's life will be held at a later date. Shane's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Wynn Hospital for the wonderful care they provided to him. A special thank you to Pastor Mike Ballman for your spiritual guidance and friendship during this difficult time. Arrangements are entrusted to Heintz Funeral Service, Inc., Utica.
