Timothy John Clakeley, 66, of Canastota, passed away peacefully with his loving wife by his side on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at the VA Medical Center in Syracuse.
Born in Montgomery, Alabama, on September 11, 1958, Timmy was the son of the late Wesley and Margaret (Sutphen) Clakeley.
He was a 1976 graduate of Chittenango High School and on January 11, 1977, Timmy proudly joined the United States Navy where he served until his honorable discharge on January 9, 1981.
On July 30, 1993, Timmy was united in marriage to Lori Edick at the Bridgeport United Methodist Church.
Timmy was a maintenance mechanic for Diemolding, Gray-Syracuse, and most recently, Thermold Corp.
All who knew Timmy enjoyed his countless, captivating stories. His wisdom of life and love for his family and friends was immeasurable. Timmy enjoyed reading, playing golf, the Buffalo Bills, SU sports, Alabama "Roll Tide" football, and watching his grandsons grow. If you were fortunate enough to be in his presence, you know Timmy's zest for life was an epic journey. He will be deeply missed by all but his memory will live on through the stories, jokes, and the laughter that he shared.
Surviving are his loving wife, Lori Edick-Clakeley, of Canastota; his stepson, Justin Jayson (fiancé, Alicia VanLandingham), of Verona; three grandchildren, Orion, Hunter, and Myles Jayson, all of Canastota; six siblings, Richard (Karen) Clakeley, of CA, Linda Knight, of AL, Peter (Gail) Clakeley, of FL, Janice (Doug) Cordell, of Kirkville, Martin (Stefanie) Clakeley, of SC, and Robert Clakeley, of Chittenango; his in-laws, Thena Edick, of VA, Colleen (Robbie) Bowling, of GA, and Todd Edick, of PA; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and one great great-niece. Timmy was predeceased by his parents; a niece, Julie Ann Clakeley; and a brother-in-law, Joseph Knight.
Timmy's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate ICU nurses and VA staff that provided loving care to Timmy.
A Celebration of Timmy's life will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2025, from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at the Barbagallo's Restaurant, 6344 E Molloy Rd., East Syracuse, NY. Memorial contributions may be made in Timmy's memory to
