Valerie Sierak Obituary

Valerie L. (Nash) Sierak, 69, of Utica, and formerly of Westmoreland, passed away on August 9, 2025, at Wynn Hospital. She was born on September 5, 1955, in Utica, NY, the daughter of the late Harvey and Frances Nash. Valerie was educated at SUNY Morrisville. In 1982, she married Tom Sierak in Hecla, NY, and together they shared a loving and devoted partnership. Valerie worked for many years as a food service worker at the Mohawk Valley Psychiatric Center. She was a member of the Utica Church of Christ, where she found comfort and community. Valerie had a love for gardening, crafting, and collecting. These hobbies brought her great joy and were a reflection of her creative and nurturing spirit. She is survived by her beloved husband, Tom Sierak; her children, Justin Fraser, Jessica F. Jenkins, and Jennifer L. Sierak; her brother, Norman Nash; her sisters, Janice Nash and Sharman Kleinhenn; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Harvey and Frances Nash and her sister Barbara MacRitchie. Friends may consider making a donation in Valerie's memory to the Steven Swann Humane Society, an organization dear to her heart.
