In Loving Memory William T. Barnes February 14, 1963 - September 29, 2024 BLOSSVALE, NY - William (Bill) Terrance Barnes, age 61, died in his sleep at his home on September 29, 2024. The son of Patricia J. Barnes and the late Robert G. Barnes Sr., Bill was born in Syracuse on February 14, 1963. He graduated from Chittenango High School with the class of 1981. Growing up, Bill was an outstanding athlete. He was the quarterback for the varsity football team, point guard for the varsity basketball team and pitcher for the varsity baseball team. Bill obtained the rank of Eagle Scout by the Boy Scouts of America. He worked for P&C Groceries and Wegmans Grocery Stores. Later in life he spent his time helping with daycare for his three grandchildren who lived across the street. Bill enjoyed the outdoors and many water activities on Oneida Lake, but what Bill loved most was spending time with his son and his three grandchildren. He treasured time spent playing with them in his backyard. You could find Bill smiling and rooting for his grandchildren at their many sporting activities. He took great pride in watching them excel in school. He is survived by his mother Patricia Barnes of Canastota, his son William Barnes of Blossvale, NY, his brother Robert Barnes Jr. and his fiancé Robin Mitchell of Cleveland, NY, his brother Steven Barnes and his wife Deborah Barnes of Palm Beach, Florida, his sister Sally Haines and her husband Joseph Haines of Camden, NY, and his grandchildren Bradley, Leila and Blake as well as lots of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Robert Barnes Sr. of Canastota, NY. Memorial Services will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 from LaRobardiere Funeral Home, 109 Main Street, Camden, NY.
