Charles Adams

Charles Leroy "Charlie" Adams, 80, of Lafayette, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2025 at Riverwalk Village in Noblesville. Charlie was born July 27, 1945 in Flora, Indiana to the late Cecil and Gladys (Lykins) Adams. His marriage was to Teresa (Sorenson) on October 29, 2004. Charlie loved his wife so deeply and smiled anytime she walked into a room. She survives. To say Charlie loved the military would be an understatement. He spent 47 and a half years serving in the United States Army in various capacities. He was the past Post Commander at Camp Atterbury in southern Indiana and retired as a Colonel. He loved to play golf, where he did have a hole in one at Rocky Ridge Golf Course and was VERY proud of that. Charlie never missed an opportunity to have a sweet tea and could talk himself out of, or into, any situation. Charlie had a smile that lit up the room and he was quite the charmer. He had a deep love for his two dogs (the girls) Susie and CoCo and never missed taking them on a walk and everywhere he went. He enjoyed spending time with family and laughing and telling stories, especially stories about him in his military days. Charlie will be deeply missed by everybody who knew him. In addition to his wife, Charlie is survived by his children, Jeffrey Adams and Katie Mae Adams; Step children Cameron Noyes (Jacque) Grant Noyes (Sarah Cox), grandchildren, Bryna Rattee, Britttany Schrader, Austin Adams, and Taylor Adams; Hollyann Anson, Neah Noyes, Greyson Noyes, Hadley Noyes. Great grandchildren, Devin and Dylan Schrader, Scarlett, Skylar and Jade Johnson, Jackson, Kinsley, and Bailey Rattee, Hunter and Sophia Bourne. Brinlee and Gracie Anson He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers Tom and Bill Adams, and a daughter Jennifer Adams. A Celebration of Charlie's Life will take place on Monday, September 8, 2025, 2:00 PM with visitation one hour prior to the ceremony at Hippensteel Funeral Home, 822 North 9th Street in Lafayette.
