Deborah Washington Obituary

Deborah "Deb" K. Washington, 70, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at IU Arnett Health in Lafayette. Deb was born March 11, 1955 in Lafayette to the late James Vernon and Virginia Bell (Perry) Applegate. Professionally, she was a manager for Dollar General stores and later as the Activities Director at Majestic Health Care in Lafayette. Deb enjoyed camping and simply sitting on her back porch watching nature. She enjoyed spending time with friends, visiting Turkey Run State Park and Arni's. Deb is survived by her daughter, Heather (Tim) Lank; grandchildren, Paige (Brandon Birge) Bol and Madison Anthrop; niece, Mary Applegate; along with several great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Linda Applegate. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15th from 10-11 a.m., with a funeral service starting at 11. Interment will follow at Meadow View Cemetery in Lafayette.
