Donna Burk Obituary

Donna Mae Burk (Sackett), 93, of Lafayette passed surrounded by family on September 2nd at IU Hospital. She was born in Quincy, Indiana to Ennis and Josephine Sackett in 1932.
Donna was sweet, generous, kind, fun, and down-to-earth; to know her was to love her. She adored all animals, especially horses. She loved her family, her sweetie, her friends, traveling, and playing cards. Her favorite dessert was anything chocolate. She was an avid NFL and Purdue basketball fan. Donna was a loyal friend, patient and loving mother, doting grandmother, and devoted wife. She worked as an Automotive Sales Accountant for 29 years at Bill DeFouw Chevrolet. She was a contributor to many charities, including the ASPCA and Wounded Warriors Foundation.
She is predeceased by both of her parents and her 3 sons, Michael, Terry, and William Gable. Donna leaves behind her husband of 52 years Arthur Burk, daughter Sandra Gable, and stepdaughter Barbara Lash, along with 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson and a great-great granddaughter-to-be. She will be deeply missed by all.
Donna will be laid to rest imminently in a small, private ceremony with a Celebration of Life being planned for the Spring of 2026. Details to come.
