Helen Hill Obituary

Helen Jean (Buck) Hill, 91, of Chalmers, passed away at IU Health Arnett Hospital on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. She was born on September 6, 1934, in Lafayette to the late William Henry and Blanche Mae (Largen) Buck. After graduating from Rossville High School, Helen earned her Bachelor's Degree from Indiana State University, and then her Master's Degree from Purdue University. She taught elementary grades for several years with the Lafayette School Corporation. She was married to Ronald M. Hill on August 6, 1965, in Battle Ground, and he preceded her in passing on May 15, 2018. Helen worked for many years at CTS Microelectronics in West Lafayette before transferring to the Purdue University Library System. She greatly enjoyed working with the student workers and retired in 2005 to spend time with her grandchildren. Helen is survived by her children, Sirena J. (Scott) Conway of Lafayette, Mike (Jennifer) Hill of Monticello, and Brian (Mindi) Hill of Lafayette; and three grandchildren Myca, Grant and Milayna. Helen requested that, in lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions be made to either the Chalmers Volunteer Fire Department, or any animal rescue organization.
