Jose Guadalupe Pacheco

Jose Guadalupe Pacheco, 65, of Lafayette, passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at his residence. He was born on December 12, 1959 in Tulimic de Guadalupe, Colotlan, Jalisco, Mexico to the late Concepcion Pacheco and Maria Soledad Muñoz. Jose was married to Gloria M. Gaytan on June 21, 1986 in Mexico, and she survives. He previously worked at Perry Chemical for eighteen years. He spent several years working as a custodian at Lafayette Jefferson High School and Purdue University. He also regularly attended Mass at St. Boniface Catholic Church. In his free time, Jose enjoyed gardening, listening to music, and watching old home videos. More than anything, Jose cherished the time that was spent with his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Gloria M. Pacheco, Jose is survived by his daughters, Maria Liset Puentes, Beatriz (Christian) Garcia, and Monica M. (Efrain Contreras) Pacheco; siblings, Rodrigo, Rosario, Rubertina, Amalia, Ana Maria, Gloria, and Maria Cruz; and grandchildren, Adan, Andrea, Ismael "Mayito", Noah, and Madison. In addition to his parents, Jose was preceded in death by his siblings, Fidel, Evelia, and Ricardo. Visitation will be held at Hippensteel Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 12th from 4-7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 13th at 10 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church with Father Andrew Dudzinski officiating.
