Paul C Krause Jr.

Paul C. Krause Jr, 93, of West Lafayette, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 24, 2025. He was born in Reynolds, NE on January 27, 1932, to the late Paul C. and Alma A. (Peterson) Krause. Paul was a professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University for 39 years. Prior to his career at Purdue University, he taught at the University of Wisconsin and at the University of Kansas. He was a Life Fellow of the IEEE and authored or co-authored over 100 technical papers and five textbooks on electric machines. In 1983, he founded PC Krause and Associates, Inc (PCKA), an engineering research and development firm headquartered in West Lafayette. Paul received the IEEE Nikola Tesla Award in 2010. Survivors include his four children: Debra A. (Charles) Provost of Indianapolis, David P. (Roberta) Krause of West Lafayette, Jane E. Krause of West Lafayette, and Philip C. (Elizabeth) Krause of West Lafayette; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Paul was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Evaro D. Krause; his sister, Anna L. Potter; an infant grandson, Jonathan M. Provost; and his second wife, Lynn M. Krause. Paul loved his family and he will be deeply missed. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
