Peggy Ket Obituary

Peggy Ann (Ogden) Ket, 74, of Dayton, Indiana, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 8, 1950, in Valparaiso, Indiana, to the late Clara Hagberg and Raymond Ogden. On June 14, 1974, Peggy married the love of her life, Alan Ray Ket, and together they built over 50 years of memories filled with laughter, family, and devotion. She was a proud mother to her children, Wesley Ket and Ashley Ket. Peggy's greatest joy was being "Nana" to her five grandchildren: August, Ames, and Atlas Ket, and Nicole Bray and Aubrie Hodges, who brought endless light and happiness into her life. Peggy is also survived by her beloved sisters: Lynn Whitlock of Colburn, IN; Sharon Singer of Tampa, FL; Vicky (Wayne) McIntosh of Lafayette, IN; and Verna Moffatt Waples of Waco, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents and eldest sister Janice Hostetler. After earning her medical assistant degree from Ivy Tech, Peggy dedicated her career to caring for others as a phlebotomist and a medical assistant. She touched countless lives with her kindness and steady hand, always treating others with compassion and dignity. Peggy had many passions in life. She loved flowers and gardening, her cats and dogs-especially her faithful dog, Bailey-and she was known as one of the best cooks around. Her family will forever treasure the memory of her famous chili and potato salad, meals always best enjoyed at cookouts and gatherings where Peggy shined most: surrounded by her loved ones. Her life was filled with humor and love. One of Alan's favorite stories came early in their marriage-Peggy dressed up fancy for what she thought would be a special night out, only to find herself at Farm & Fleet eating hot dogs. While not impressed at the time, she made sure Alan learned better over the years. Together, they came to love all kinds of music and often enjoyed a simple but favorite meal at South Street Smokehouse. Peggy's warmth, humor, and strength were the heart of her family. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, a loving mother, an adoring grandmother, and a sister and friend who always gave of herself. Most of all, she will be remembered for her love-a love that was felt in her cooking, her laughter, her stories, and the way she lit up when her grandchildren were near. Her legacy lives on in those who loved her most, especially Alan, Wesley, and Ashley, who will miss her deeply but hold her memory close to their hearts. Services will take place at Tippecanoe Funeral and Cremation Services at 1671 W. 350 N. West Lafayette, IN 47906 on Tuesday September 2, 2025, Visitation 11am-12pm Funeral at 12pm, burial to follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens 1718 W. 350 N.
