Sharon Marie Banes

Sharon Marie Banes, age 78, of Lafayette, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. She was born on November 21, 1946, in Lafayette, the daughter of the late Virginia and William Banes Sr. Sharon attended Jefferson High School and spent her entire career working at the family-owned business, Banes Monogram. Creative and full of life, Sharon had a passion for knitting and brought joy to many through her unique talent as a clown-a skill she honed in clown school. Her playful spirit became a cherished part of the family business when they expanded into balloons and deliveries. A lifelong member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Sharon's faith was an important and steady part of her life. She shared a very special bond with her parents, with whom she enjoyed years of camping and traveling-memories that carried on into adulthood and remained close to her heart. Sharon will be remembered for her creativity, sense of humor, devotion to her family, and the kindness she brought into the lives of those around her. Sharon is survived by her brothers, Wiliam Thomas Banes Jr., Robert E. Banes, and Homer Lewis Banes; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Steven Banes. Family and friends may visit from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at Tippecanoe Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Tippecanoe Funeral Chapel, 3631 Morehouse Road, West Lafayette, Indiana. Entombement will follow.
