Vincent Wilson "Vint" Vaughan

Vincent Wilson Vaughan, 70, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2025, at home in West Lafayette. "Vint" is preceded in death by his parents Jack N. Vaughan and Jeanne (Wilson) Vaughan, and brother, Thomas Wilson Vaughan. Vint graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School. During that time, he was a member of the Broncho's football, basketball and golf teams. He was a member of the Lafayette Country Club swim team. He was also a Golden Gloves Champion. Vint attended Elon College on a football scholarship. He returned home to become a firefighter for Lafayette City Fire Department, of which he retired. Vint enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding motorcycles and being a character. He is survived by his partner, Janet MacLagan of Lafayette; brother, Jack W. of Charleston WV; Kathy McWhorter; and sister, Jeanne V. Walker of Gainesville, GA. He is also survived by an uncle, Charles R Vaughan; nieces and nephews, Jack and fiancé Stephany, Tracey Vaughan, Jeanne Walker Rains and husband, Jay Rains, and Steve Walker; 3 great nieces and nephews, Tripp, Jeanne, and Kindley Rains; as well as several cousins. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial contributions to Matthew 25 Share and Care Soup Kitchen, St. Ann's Church and Shrine, 612 Wabash Avenue, Lafayette, IN 47905. Per Vints request, he is to be cremated and a grave side service to be scheduled at a future date.
