J. Robert "Bob" Current, 76, of Wilmington, passed away 4:14 a.m, Monday, Feb. 10, 2014 at his home.
His wife of 57 years, Maxine "Mickey" Starkey Current, survives.
Mr. Current was born July 28, 1937 in Clinton County, a son of the late Raymon and Ina Crute Current. He was a graduate of Wilmington High School.
Mr. Current owned and operated Current Trucking for more than 50 years. He was a Green Township trustee for 36 years. He served on the Emergency Management Board for five years and the Clinton-Highland Joint Fire Board for 12 years. He was a member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge 797.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Current is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Knauff of Wilmington, and Kay (Edward) Gross of Leesburg; four grandchildren, Daniel Knauff of Centerville, Lyndsey (Chris) Campbell of Washington Court House, Justin Gross of Leesburg, and Jackie Gross of Las Vegas, Nev.; and two great-grandchildren, Chloe Campbell of Washington Court House, and Connor Campbell of Washington Court House.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South St., Wilmington, with Sidney Clay officiating. Burial will be in New Antioch Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014 and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Green Township Trustees, P.O. Box 309, New Vienna, OH 45159.
