Norma Pauline "Polly" Daugherty, age 93, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away Sunday afternoon, January 9, 2022 at the Laurels of Blanchester.
She was born February 7, 1928 in Morrow, Ohio, daughter of the late Harry and Edna Loretta (Riehle) Homan. On October 26, 1946, she married Robert Lee Daugherty, who passed on December 9, 2009.
Polly graduated from Blanchester High School in 1945 and was a member of St. Columbkille Catholic Church, Blanchester Senior Citizens, and the Wilmington Savings Bank Senior Citizens Center. She retired from the Wilmington College in 1990.
Polly cherished being with her family most of all. In addition, she enjoyed gardening, playing cards and bingo, cooking and baking for her family, walking and exercising at the senior center. She had an eye for fashion. She was an avid Cincinnati Reds, Xavier Basketball and UC Basketball fan.
Surviving are her daughters, Barbara (Richard) Gauthier of Kingston, Mass. and Peggy (Gerald) LeForge of Wilmington; son-in-law, Stephen (Pam) Meineke of Milford, Ohio: grandchildren, Jeffrey (Shannon) Gauthier of Mass., Tracy (Thomas) Pazyra of Mass., Kevin (Brandi) LeForge of Wilmington, and Alison Meineke of Milford, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Daniel Pazyra, Joseph Pazyra, Olivia Gauthier, Hannah Gauthier, Hillary LeForge, and Landen LeForge; nephew, Roger (Janice) Kinney; niece, Penny (Bill) Doss; and special cousin, Roberta Douglas.
In addition to her parents and husband, Polly was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Meineke; grandson, Jason LeForge; great-grandson, Adam Gauthier; sister, Ruthella Kinney; sister-in-law, Elaine Campbell; and nephews, Charles Conger & Ronald Campbell.
Prayers will be said at 10:45 a.m. Friday, January 14 at the Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 W. Locust St. at North Mulberry Street, Wilmington, led by Deacon Bob Baker, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Friday, January 14, 2022 at the St. Columbkille Catholic Church, 73 N. Mulberry St., Wilmington, with Rev. Michael J. Holloran officiating. Interment will follow in the Edwardsville Cemetery, Blanchester, Ohio.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of prayers at 10:45 a.m. Friday, January 14 at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions in Polly's name may be made to the Blanchester Senior Citizens, 70 Middleboro Road, Blanchester, OH 45107.
