Ruby J. Ross, age 91, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away peacefully with family by her side, Saturday morning, December 31, 2022 at the Quaker Heights Nursing Home in Waynesville, Ohio.
She was born February 14, 1931 in Pikeville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Malon & Mary Frances (Greer) Hall. On June 21, 1952 in Rapid City, SD, she married the love of her life, Billy B. Ross Sr., who passed on October 24, 2012.
Ruby was a devout Christian and was a member of the Wilmington First Church of God. A resident of Wilmington for 59 years she loved working with numbers having worked as a bookkeeper. Ruby had a passion for sales and enjoyed selling Sarah Coventry and Christmas Around the World. Things she enjoyed included meeting new people, watching Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy and Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel and working puzzles with her family.
Surviving are her 3 daughters- Joyce (Doug) Ward of Wilmington, Debbie (Raymond) Umstead of Carmel, IN, & Sandy Stagge of Waynesville, son- Billy B. (Paula) Ross, Jr. of Winter Haven, FL; 10 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Also surviving is a brother, Robert (Georgia) Hall and a sister, Margaret Sue Anderson.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ruby was preceded in death by her brothers, Maurice, James, and Billy Joe Hall, sisters, Audrey Jewel Amburgy, and Frances Marian Hall as well as a son-in-law, Keith Stagge.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Wilmington Assembly of God, 609 West Locust Street, Wilmington with her former Pastor Larry Speelman officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. at the church. A private graveside service at the Clinton County Memory Gardens will be held on Monday at the convenience of the family. The Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington, is assisting the family.

To all of Ruby's family. She was a dear sweet friend. We all loved and appreciated her dish towel ministry. I still use them every day. I have special ones that I don't use. My condolences to all of you. Prayers for peace and comfort. Barb Purtee.
