William D. "Bill" Pitzer Sr., age 78, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, February 23, 2021 in Louisville, Ky.
He was born May 14, 1942 in Sugartree Ridge, Ohio, son of the late George Earl Pitzer and Mabel Virginia Mobley Pitzer.
Bill was a member of the Bible Baptist Church of Wilmington and Dalton Masonic Lodge #578 F&AM.
He was the owner of Pitzer Plumbing Company in Wilmington and was a well-known Master Plumber, having worked in Clinton County and the surrounding area for many years.
He was also a member of the Ohio Amateur Photography Club and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Bill was a fantastic grandfather and great grandfather and his hobbies included photography and traveling.
Surviving are son, William Denver (Marisol) Pitzer, Jr. of Keller, Texas; daughter, Melinda S. (Richard) Pitzer-Davidson of Wilmington; significant friend, M. Teresa Jenkins of Wilmington; three grandchildren, Tinisha (Matt) Wilson and Roberta "Bobi" (Roger) Hile both of Wilmington, and grandson, Diego Pitzer of Keller, Texas; and seven great granddaughters and one great grandson. Also surviving are four brothers, Tom (Jenny) Pitzer, Wayne (Maryann) Pitzer, Robert (Sue) Pitzer, Gary (Cindy) Pitzer; and a sister, Linda (Lowell) Hile.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Pitzer; great-grandson, Leland Yerian; and brother, Jack Pitzer.
Services will be held at Bible Baptist Church of Wilmington, 55 Megan Dr., Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 11: a.m. with Rev. Josh Dixon officiating. Interment will follow in the Springfield Friends Cemetery, where the Wilmington American Legion Honor Guard will conduct full military honors.
Friends will be received at the church on Monday, March 8, 2021 from 5-7 p.m.
The Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington, is assisting the family with arrangements.
