Alice I. McCombs

GLOCESTER - Alice I. (Lambert) McCombs, 95, known to her family and friends as Irene, formerly of Pascoag, passed away peacefully at home in Chepachet, on Saturday, February 19, 2022 with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Herbert T. McCombs. Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Alice (Mills) Lambert.

Irene graduated high school and later attended hair dressing school. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was devoted to her family.

She is survived by two sons: Thomas McCombs of Rotonda West, FL and William McCombs of Providence; three daughters: Donna Austin of North Scituate, Alice Gruenenfelder of Woonsocket and Judith Murphy of Chepachet; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by her companion, Raymond Daggett and by her five sisters: Louise Bandieri, Winifred Bourque, Theresa Smith, Frances Farrell and Rose Talbot.

Her funeral will be held Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 10 AM from the Boucher Funeral Home, 272 Sayles Ave., Pascoag with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. Joseph's Church, 183 Sayles Ave., Pascoag. Burial will follow in Acotes Hill Cemetery, Putnam Pike, Chepachet. Calling hours for Irene will be Friday from 4 to 7 PM.
