Andre G. Paradis

NORTH SMITHFIELD - Andre Gerard Paradis, 80, formerly of North Smithfield, died peacefully on October 4, under the loving care of his family and the staff at Aberjona Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Winchester, MA.

Andy was preceded in death by his loving wife Patricia (Wojcik) with whom he celebrated fifty years of marriage in August of 2014.

Born and raised in North Smithfield, Andy was the son of the late Leo L. and Yvonne N. (Marien) Paradis.

Andy was a graduate of Mount Saint Charles Academy in Woonsocket, Rhode Island and Providence College. Andy worked for the State of Rhode Island as a social worker for over 30 years. He also managed real estate for his family for nearly his entire life.

Andy was a proud member of the Kiwanis Club, Lions Club and Rotary Club over his many years living in northern Rhode Island.

He also spent many years as a Cub Scout leader, and he was an avid sports fan particularly supporting the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics, and Providence Friars. Andy was happiest working on his farm, loved his maple walnut ice cream, nightly chocolate and mixed nuts but above all, he loved spending time with his family.

Andy is survived by two sons; David Paradis and his wife Karen Iskierski of Woonsocket and Benjamin Paradis of Novato, CA, two daughters; Melissa Macolini of Wells, ME and, Rebecca Pouliot of Stoneham, MA as well as seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and, many loving nieces and nephews.

Andy was preceded in death by his sisters Pauline Ethier and Madeleine Jabs and two brothers, Maurice Paradis and Rene Paradis.

His funeral will be held Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 10AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 63 Church St., North Smithfield. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Calling hours are Friday from 4-7PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Woonsocket Rotary Charities Foundation Inc., P.O.
