Ann H. Verfaille

SMITHFIELD - Ann H. (Paquette) Verfaille, 88, of Smithfield, passed away on June 5, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of forty-nine years of the late Roger Verfaille. Born in Central Falls, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Stella (Piluk) Paquette.

Mrs. Verfaille was a 1952 graduate of Cumberland High School and attended Rhode Island College. A dedicated and faithful woman, Ann was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church, where she served as a lecturer and Eucharistic Minister, and she was also a secular member of the Franciscan Sisters of Mary St. Clare Fraternity, OFS. She enjoyed reading, cooking, working in her garden, trips to the casino and the ocean, spending time at her home in Fort Myers, vacationing in Aruba, and taking religious pilgrimages. Ann was a generous woman and volunteered for the McAuley House, Providence.

She had an everlasting devotion to her family. She is survived by her three children, Steven Verfaille and his partner, Gray Tweedy, of Indianapolis, IN, Elizabeth Neubauer and her husband, Gerard, of Cranston, and Christine Skalubinski and her partner, Steven Parent, of Smithfield; a sister-in-law, Jeanne Paquette of Florida; six grandchildren, Ryan, Sarah, Meghan, Molly, Tara, and Aaron; and she was Mum-Mum to nine great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Kevin Verfaille; and sister of the late Edmund and Raymond Paquette, and Agnes Charbonneau.

Her funeral will be held Monday, June 12, 2023 at 10:30 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main Street, Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 63 Church St., Slatersville, RI 02876. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, West Wrentham Rd., Cumberland. Visitation will be held Sunday beginning with the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy at 3:00 PM followed by calling hours from 3:30 - 6:30 PM.
