WOONSOCKET - Barbara E. (McCutcheon) Caya, 88, died Saturday, February 6, 2016 in Overlook Nursing and Rehab Center, Pascoag. She was the wife of the late Leo A. Caya. Born in Harrisville, she was the daughter of the late Malcolm and Annie (Simpson) McCutcheon.
Barbara retired from Landmark Medical Center after 27 years of service as a medical transcriptionist. She was a communicant of St. James Episcopal Church, Woonsocket.
She leaves her children, Robert Richards of Richardson, TX, Steven Richards of No. Providence, Janice Tempest of Warwick, Gary Caya of Manville, Lori Kitson of Chepachet and Richard Caya of Cartersville, GA; one brother, Donald McCutcheon of Naples, FL; three sisters, Bethley Guilbeault of Conowingo, MD, Ellen Houle of Pascoag and Helen Mumford of Woonsocket, as well as eighteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by one daughter, Sheri Richards; two brothers, Alan and Malcolm McCutcheon and one sister, Dorothy Adam.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 12, 2016, at 10 AM, in St. James Episcopal Church, 24 Hamlet Avenue, Woonsocket. Burial will immediately follow in Resurrection Cemetery, West Wrentham Road, Cumberland, RI. Calling hours are Thursday from 4-7 PM in Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket. Our family had the pleasure of meeting & enjoying the company of Eric's grandmother, Barbara, at a variety of family celebrations over these past five years. The bond the two shared was heartwarming. Our sincere condolences to all of her family members as they mourn her passing.
