Barbara Mooney Obituary
Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late George and Eleanor (Bliss) Chretien. She was a life-long resident of Pawtucket.
Mrs. Mooney dedicated her life to the care and comfort of her family. She was a former communicant of St. Edward Church, Pawtucket, and a former member of the Howard Rogers Post 25 and the Lincoln Senior Center. She enjoyed embroidery, BINGO at the Lincoln Senior Center, Camping with her husband, as well as spending time with family.
She leaves her son Alfred Mooney and his wife Christine of Glendale, her daughter Debbie Mooney of Pawtucket, her son Scott Mooney and his wife Michelle of Pawtucket; five grandchildren, Michael and his fiance Kristen, Nicole, Amber, Christy and Brandon; her two great-grandchildren, Rosalyna and Rayshaun; her sister, Betty Brierre and her husband Bob of Lincoln, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Jeffrey Mooney and sister of the late Fred Chretien, Connie DeForest, and Elaine Strang.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Barbara's Life Celebration to be held with Visiting Hours on Friday, March 5, 2021 from 4 to 7 PM and continue on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 10 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. A prayer service will be held at 11 AM. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland.
Guests who are unable to attend or have concerns about COVID-19 are encouraged to join a live stream of the services on Barbara's online memorial. Also, those who wish to attend the visitation, but do not wish to be indoors may tune to 90.7 FM in the funeral home parking lot to listen to the services in the comfort and safety of their vehicles.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association of RI 245 Waterman St #306, Providence, RI 02906.
