Cecile E. Smith

BURRILLVILLE - Cecile E. Smith, 87, of Pascoag, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2016, with her loving family by her side, at the Hope and Hospice Care Center in Providence. She was the wife of the late Robert Smith.

Born in Lincoln, she was the daughter of the late Jean and Alma (Charette) Laliberte.

Cecile was a 4'11" spitfire who loved the Lord and crocheting afghans for those in need. She was a prayer minister at the New Life Worship Center in Smithfield. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Wayne Smith, Carol Smith, Linda Lubash, Robert Smith, Jr., Catherine Turcotte, James Smith and his wife June, Paul Smith and his wife Anne-Marie, and Paula Jarry and her husband Ronald Jr. She also has 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Cecile was preceded in death by her siblings, Beatrice Girard, Constance Paquette, Rita Desjardins and Lucien Laliberte.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Keene Brown Funeral Home, 445 Greenville Road, North Smithfield. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Blackstone. Visitation will be on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Hope and Hospice Care of R.I., 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904.
