Celeste Gomes Obituary
Celeste Gomes is survived by one daughter: Isabel; three grandchildren: Michael, Shawn, and Brooke; two great grandchildren, Bernadette and Josephine; one sister, Victoria and one brother Augusto; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Alcides and was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
In 1968, Celeste and her family arrived in the United States, settling in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. She was employed by RI Textile Company for many years until her retirement.
Celeste was a sweet and hardworking woman. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking, and most of all spending time with her family.
Her family is comforted knowing that she has joined the angels in heaven and is now at peace.
Family and friends are invited to Celeste's Life Celebration to be held Thursday, August 16, 2018 with Visiting Hours from 8 AM to 9:30 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Cumberland.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 AM in the Our Lady of Fatima Church, Cumberland. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket Avenue, Pawtucket.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Beacon Hospice, 1 Catamore Drive, East Providence, RI 02914.
