Claire E. "Estelle" Blanchette

NORTH SMITHFIELD -Claire "Estelle" (Ethier) Blanchette, 85, of North Smithfield, formerly a Blackstone resident for 54 years, died February 5, 2022 in St. Antoine Residence, with family by her side. She was the wife of the late Marcel B. Blanchette. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Germain "Jim" and Anna (Lambert) Ethier.

Mrs. Blanchette was a graduate of St. Clare High School. Over time, she worked for Tupperware, W & S Laundry, Sheldonville Nursing Home, and Leo's Bakery, but her most beloved job was being a doting mother and Memere Cookie to her children and grandchildren.

She leaves her children, Bernard Blanchette of Burrillville, Stephen Blanchette of Quincy, MA, Colette Newman and her husband, Ian, of Blackstone, and Michelle Russell and her husband, Mark, of Warwick; her sister, Cecile Daignault of Pascoag; eight grandchildren, Jamie, Jennifer, Kimberly, Daniel, Jillian, Cody, Meaghan, and Caitlin; and five great grandchildren, Brody, Lily, Isabella, Presley, and Arthur. She was predeceased by her son, Joseph Blanchette.
