David Giroux Obituary
He was a machinist for Whitens Machine Works for forty years before his retirement in 1986. He was a member of the VFW in Forestdale. David was a member of the Knights of Columbus Freehill Council, a Past Grand Knight and a 4th Degree Knight of the Moylan Assembly. Mr. Giroux was a charter member of the Primrose Fire Dept.
He is survived by his son David J. Giroux of Hopedale, Mass., five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Michael J. Giroux, and siblings Napoleon and Charles Giroux, Ola St. Pierre, Celia Minot and Rosanna Bourget.
His funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home 463 South Amin St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, Olo St. Woonsocket. Burial with Military Honors will be held in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham.

To the family of David Giroux, the North Smithfield Fire & Rescue Service (Primrose Volunteer Fire Department) extends it deepest condolences on the passing of Primrose Charter Member, David Giroux. His sense of volunteer spirit and willingness to assist the citizens of North Smithfield is to be lauded. Our organization today is a direct result of men and women like Mr. Giroux who gave willingly and abashedly so that North Smithfield may be a safer community. Thank You David!
