David Jencks Obituary

David W. Jencks

WOONSOCKET - David W. Jencks, 69, passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024 in RI Hospital, Providence.

Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of Wallace and Muriel (Rainville) Jencks. Dave was a resident of Woonsocket for more than 28 years, previously residing in Cumberland.

He was a music lover and an avid sports fan, especially the Houston Astro's and the Tennessee Titans.

He was employed by the former Embassy Club, Woonsocket for many years as a bartender and also the former Cooky's Bar and Grill, Woonsocket for many years. Dave most recently worked for Stop & Shop Bellingham for a short time. Dave was known for his love of Christmas, he would be seen dressed as an elf at Stop and Shop while working.

He is survived by his brother Kevin Jencks of Chepachet and his sister Lisa Lachance (Russel) of West Point, NY. His two nieces Katelyn Jencks of Chepachet and Kayla Jencks of North Smithfield, along with many other nieces and nephews. Dave also leaves behind his many friends he has made over the years.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM on Saturday, October 5, 2024, in the St. Joan of Arch Church, 3357 Mendon Road Cumberland. Arrangements are under the direction of the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland.
