David Riendeau Obituary

PAWTUCKET - David R. Riendeau, 58, passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on Friday, June 4, 2021.

He was the beloved husband of Stacey A. (Flaherty) Riendeau for thirteen years and the late Julie M. (Mancini) Riendeau, who passed in 2007. David was born in Central Falls, a son of the late Raymond E. and Claire S. (LaPorte) Riendeau.

He was a longtime member of the Carpenters Union, Local 330, Warwick, for thirty-five years until retiring in 2017. David was an active parishioner of St. John Paul II Parish (St. Cecilia Church), Pawtucket, and a member of the St. John Paul II Knights of Columbus Council 12613. He was also involved in scouting and was a Boy Scout Leader for Troop 18.

Above all, David was a devoted and loving husband, father, brother, and friend. He will be lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched over the past fifty-eight years.

Besides his loving wife, Dave leaves a son, Joshua C. Riendeau of Pawtucket; a sister, Diane Riendeau of Pawtucket; four brothers, Paul Riendeau and Joel Riendeau both of Pawtucket, Richard Riendeau of Billerica, MA and Daniel Riendeau of Cumberland; his uncle, Reverend Paul LaPorte of Pawtucket and many nieces and nephews.

David's funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Cecilia Church, 755 Central Ave., Pawtucket. I met Dave in the summer of 1987 when he came to work for us as an apprentice carpenter. For the next 30 years Dave worked almost exclusively for us and was without a doubt one of the best carpenters to ever work for the company. Dave was not only a great craftsman, but possessed the rare ability to do excellent work at a very fast pace. Dave was a quiet person in the workplace, but had a dry sense of humor that came through as he opened up once he got to know you. Dave retired in 2017 at which time we had a small party at the last project he was working on. At that party I presented Dave a plaque thanking him for his many years of dedicated service. Also, at that party one of his co-workers came forward and asked Dave "What are we going to do now without you? Dave - you have taught us all so much!" There is no question that Dave will be missed by all those who worked with him, but also the many people Dave touched in his personal life as well. Thank you Dave.

Stacey, Joshua and the all the Riendeau's.

I am very sadden to hear of the passing of David. His family was everything to him and he was a great man. I was so happy that David and I became friends over the last few years, especially since I had worked with his father Ray in the school Department and became very quite friendly with Ray & Claire. I know Ray was as proud of his family as David was. Mary and I offer our deepest condolences and will remember you all in our prayers!
