Doris Bissonnette

NORTH SMITHFIELD - Doris (Forget) Bissonnette, 90, North Smithfield, died Saturday, July 23, 2016, in her home. She was the wife of the late Adelard Bissonnette, Sr., whom she married in November of 1946. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lea (Bergeron) Forget, and was raised by her uncle and aunt, William and Josephine (Bergeron) St. George.
She worked as a spinner in the woolen mills, and later worked for Tupperware. Doris enjoyed working in her garden and taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Doris is survived by two daughters, Pauline Bissonnette and Helen Martin of North Smithfield, three sons, Adelard Bissonnette, Jr. and his wife Joan, and Robert Bissonnette and his wife Frances of North Smithfield, and Roger Bissonnette and his wife Debra of Blackstone, three brothers, Raymond, Albert, and Robert Forget, all of North Smithfield, a sister Jeannette Ackley of Woonsocket, fourteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter Doris J. Beaudoin.
Her funeral will be held Friday, July 29, 2016, beginning with visitation at 9 AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main Street, Woonsocket, followed by a service at 11 AM. Burial will follow in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery, 63 Church Street, North Smithfield. www.holtfuneralhome.com
