Doris M. Dartt

1925 - 2017

MILLVILLE - Doris M. (Dunn) Dartt, 91, of Millville, died March 24, 2017, in the Lydia Taft House, Uxbridge. Born in Woonsocket, RI on December 24, 1925; she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Gerda (Christensen) Dunn.
Doris was employed by Engine Distributors, Inc. in Holliston, MA until her retirement in 1987 and had previously worked for GE in Ashland, MA and Bancroft Company in Woonsocket. Doris is remembered as having raised her children during her husband's Navy career with modest means. She loved spending time with her family, enjoyed sewing, going to the beach and soaking up the sun, and sitting on her porch reading her Harlequin romances.
She is survived by a son, Christopher Dartt of Worcester, three daughters, Patricia and husband Robert Ray of Millville, Sandra Remblad of PA, and Lori Harrison of Woonsocket. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and ten great great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her two sons, Brian Dartt and Ernest "Mike" Dartt; and her daughter, Sharon Rice.
Her funeral will be held Saturday, April 22, 2017, at 11:00 AM in St. John's Episcopal Church, 49 Central Street, Millville, MA. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, North Smithfield, RI. Calling hours are omitted. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket.
