Dorothy McLachlan Obituary

ATTLEBORO - Dorothy Mildred (Jordan) McLachlan, 87, of Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at her home. She was the beloved wife of the late George McLachlan to whom she was married for sixty-two years and who passed away on June 29, 2015.

Born on January 4, 1934, in Pawtucket, RI, she was the daughter of the late Clinton Jordan and the late Ruby Edna (McCarthy) Jordan.

Dorothy was educated in Pawtucket and was a graduate of Pawtucket West High School.

A resident of Attleboro for the past twenty-seven years, she previously lived in Lincoln, RI, where she and George raised their family. A woman of faith, she attended Woodlawn Baptist Church in Pawtucket and taught Sunday School there for many years, having also attended to the church's nursery.

The center of Dorothy's life was always her family. She truly cherished spending every moment she could with them. She was an avid reader who enjoyed playing Bingo and Scrabble, knitting, and fresh-water fishing as a younger woman. She was an ardent fan of New England sports teams, especially the Red Sox, Bruins, and Patriots.

Dorothy was the loving mother of Susan Perrino and her husband, Robert Perrino, of Johnston, RI; Carol Amaral and her husband, Paul Amaral, of Smithfield, RI; Janis Fontaine and her husband, Roger Fontaine, of South Attleboro, MA; Donna Pauley and her husband, Larry Pauley, of North Smithfield, RI; Nancy Lundgren and her partner, Marty Convey, of South Attleboro, MA; David McLachlan of North Attleboro, MA; and Andrew McLachlan and his wife, Tina McLachlan, of Lincoln, RI. She was the proud and adoring grandmother of ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by four brothers and one sister and leaves her extended family and dear friends.

Family and friends are cordially invited to honor Dorothy by attending Visitation in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA, on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home.
