Edgar W. Bastien

1927 - 2021

LINCOLN - Edgar W. Bastien, 93, of Lincoln, RI formerly of Blackstone, MA, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Roger Williams Medical Center, Providence, RI. He is the beloved husband of the late Madeleine M. (Laquerre) Bastien. Born in Woonsocket, RI on August 26, 1927, he is the son of the late Arthur and Albertina (Arnaud) Bastien. He is the loving father of Michelle Bibeault and her husband, David of Lincoln, RI and Monette Knapik and her husband, Glenn of Yarmouth Port, MA. He leaves his cherished, Nicole and Ethan Knapik. He is the brother of Georgette Carpentier of Woonsocket, RI and the late Robert Bastien and Juliette Belisle.

He was United States Army Korean War Veteran attaining the rank of Sergeant and received the Army Occupation Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal and the Combat Infantry Badge.

Edgar worked in the warehouse at CVS Distribution Center in Woonsocket, RI for 22 years until retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Woonsocket Elks Lodge #850. Together with his wife, Madeleine, Edgar enjoyed traveling and dancing. His greatest joy was spending time with family and he will be greatly missed.
