Edward G. Gauthier

NASONVILLE - Edward G. Gauthier, 90, of Nasonville, RI passed away on November 27, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of 68 years to Muriel (Desrosiers) Gauthier. He was born in North Smithfield, a son of the late Edmund & Yvonne (Deneault) Gauthier.
Edward was an electrician for many years working in area construction, retiring from the Leviton Manufacturing Co. in Warwick in 1992. He was a WWII US Army Veteran. Ed was a member of the American Legion, Post 88, in Nasonville, and bowled with "The Happy Bowlers" and St. Joseph's Bowlers. He was a volunteer fireman for the Nasonville Fire Department where he served on the operating committee. Edward was a volunteer for St. Theresa's Shrine and Parish.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Donna Deroy of Nasonville and Edward Gauthier, Jr. of Woonsocket, a sister, Alice Lefebvre of NC, 3 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his siblings Albert, Henry, Leonard, Joseph and Rene Gauthier and Laurette Delisle.
His funeral will be held Saturday at 9 am from the Brown Funeral Home, 1496 Victory Hwy., Oakland with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in Our Lady of Good Help Church, Victory Hwy., Mapleville. Burial, with military honors, will be held in St. Theresa's Cemetery, Nasonville. Calling hours are prior to the Funeral Mass from 9-10:30 am.
