Edward Haggerty Obituary

PISMO BEACH, CA - Edward Michael Haggerty passed away on September 12th 2015; and left an enormous void for all who knew him and loved him. He left this earthly life too soon, to be with our Lord and Father God.
He was born May 4th 1935 in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. He proudly served in the US Air Force from 1952 to 1956 as a Staff Sergeant, receiving a Good Conduct Medal and an Honorable Discharge.
He retired after 35 years with Pacific Telephone/AT&T, and settled in Pismo Beach in 1988 to live out his dream retirement with his best friend and wife, Pat.
Upon retirement, his hobbies included woodworking, home improvement "projects", weight lifting, cars and walking on the beach with his beloved wife of 45 years, Pat. They both shared a love for animals and were involved in numerous charities and rescue groups.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Haggerty, sister Jane Desaulniers; two children Michael Haggerty and Patti Lynch; grandchildren Shannon and Shane; and four great-grandchildren. Also, two devoted kitties, Kelly and Murphy.
All who knew him loved him. He was always there to lend a hand no matter what the task. We will miss his laugh and his mischievous wit every single day. No one can ever fill the empty space he has left behind. He loved to say "Super!!" and "Terrific!!!" and those are words you could also use to describe him. He always knew how to make everyone happier than they were before they met him.
Memorials in his honor may be directed to Woods Humane Society, 875 Oklahoma Ave., San Luis Obispo, CA.

Gordon, Bandit, and Caddie always looked forward to meeting Ed and Pat on walks and letting Smokey and I know about it when they got home.
I miss Gordon, as I know you miss Ed. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
