Francis F. Fish

1922 - 2018

NORTH ATTLEBORO - Francis F. Fish, 95, a longtime resident of North Attleboro, MA, died Sunday, July 1, 2018, at St. Antoine's Residence in North Smithfield, RI. He was the husband of the late Doris (Gauthier) Fish, who died in 2000, and the late Nancy (McWatters) Barteau Fish, who died in 2012.
Born September 13, 1922 in Attleboro, MA, he was a son of the late Walter Lyman and Hettie (Charlwood) Fish.
Francis was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and served in a field hospital for the 94th Pacific Coast Artillery District stationed at Iwo Jima and Saipan.
He worked as a journeyman lace weaver for Old Town Lace, Bates Lace and County Lace located in North Attleboro then became an electronics assembler for the Northrop-Grumman Corporation, in Norwood, MA, retiring in 1990.
He had a wide variety of interests: gardening, fishing, photography, bike-riding, Audubon Society, Patriots, Red Sox and travel. A member of Grace Episcopal Church for over 60 years.
Francis was a devoted family man. He loved life and people. He never complained and did his job with a smile. His personal philosophy was to live life in moderation. He left a trail of love and friendship for all to follow.
He is survived by two children: Barbara Rymarczyk and husband James of Austin, TX and Frederick C. Fish and wife Nancy of Cumberland, RI; a brother: Robert L. Fish of Warwick, RI; three grandchildren: David Fish, of North Providence, RI, Elizabeth Rymarczyk of Medway, MA and Sharon Reiley and husband James of North Attleboro, MA and a great-granddaughter Paige Reiley of North Attleboro, MA. He was brother to the late Walter L. Fish, Jr., Gerald Fish and May Fish
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, July 11 from 5-7 p.m. at the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, July 12 at 11 a.m. followed by burial with U.S. Army military honors at Newell Burying Ground in South Attleboro.
