George Keeling Obituary
George was a Burrillville police officer for 20 years, retiring as a sergeant. He served in the US Marines during the Korean Conflict. He was a lifelong Burrillville resident where he served as vice chairman of the town's zoning board and was president of the Fraternal Order of Police. He played professional hockey and was an avid sports fan.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Sarah Shuda, Joshua Keeling, Rose and Joanne Keeling, Lisa Arends, and George Keeling III, 10 grandchildren, his sisters, Dorothy Cook and Helen Detrick. He is also survived by several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, George Keeling II, daughter, Gay Keeling, and his brother, Thomas Keeling.
His funeral will be held Saturday at 8am from the Brown Funeral Home, 1496 Victory Hwy., Oakland with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9am in St. Patrick's Church in Harrisville. Burial, with military honors, will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Friday from 5-8pm.
