George A. Salhany

PAWTUCKET - George A. Salhany, 96, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2023. He was the beloved husband of the late Stella (Tkatzuk) Salhany, who passed away in September of 2000. A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Elias and Helen (Barakat) Salhany.

George was a United States Army veteran of the Second World War. He went on to work in his family business, the former Salhany's Pharmacy on Japonica Street in Pawtucket. George was a devout Catholic who attended Mass daily and was a member of the Saint Vincent DePaul Society. He was also a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of Police Associates, Lodge #4, Pawtucket, the American Legion, and the Knights of Columbus, Delaney Council. George will be lovingly remembered by all whose lives he has touched over the past ninety-six years. May his memory be eternal.

His family would like to thank the caring staff at Tockwotton on the Waterfront, for their dedication, heartfelt compassion, and tender care during George's time with them at Tockwotton.

George leaves thirteen nieces and nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and many dear friends.

VISITATION will be held on Monday from 8:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Concelebrated Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in the Church of St. Basil the Great, 15 Skyview Dr., Lincoln. Interment with his late wife will follow at Mount Saint Mary Cemetery in Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to either the Church of St. Basil the Great or Tockwotton on the Waterfront's Employee Enrichment Fund, 500 Waterfront Drive, East Providence, RI 02914 would be appreciated.
