Gilbert L'Heureux Obituary
Born in Woonsocket on Jan. 20, 1936, he was the son of the late Lucien and Cecile (Champagne) L'Heureux. He is the loving father of Lori Perron of Narragansett, and Kim Meers and her husband, Jim, of North Smithfield. He leaves his cherished grandchildren, Sarah Speroni, and Nicole Lord and her husband, Mike; and his great-grandchildren, Lyla, Hailey, Nico and Liam. He is the brother of Robert "Bob" L'Heureux of Woonsocket, Pauline Lemek of Slatersville, and the late Lucien L'Heureux, Ronald L'Heureux and Lucille Reeves.
A lifelong resident of Woonsocket, Gilbert worked as a steeplejack and painter. He enjoyed gong to Christmas bazaars, yard sales and the casino.
He was a United States Army Korean War Veteran, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, and the United Nations Service Medal.
Devoted to his family, Gilbert will be greatly missed.
Arrangements are private under the direction of Cartier's Funeral Home, Bellingham.
