James Ethier Obituary
MANVILLE - James J. Ethier, 70, of Manville, RI passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Thursday, March 27, 2025. He was the beloved husband for 36 years of the late Elaine M. (Ganczar) Ethier. He was the loving father of Mark A Crawley and his wife, Rebecca of Palmer, MA, and Nancy L. White and her husband, David of Moore, SC. He leaves his cherished grandchildren Jessica, Alicia and Joshua White and Michael Crawley, and great-grandchildren Aliyah, Zachary and Trinity.
He was the son of the late Dr. Wilfrid V. and Cornelia T. (Walsh) Ethier, and the brother of Robin K. Dufresne, Elaine H. Frechette and her husband, Barry, Margaret M. Beaulieu and her husband, Steven, Elizabeth A. Lavoie and her late husband. Leonard, and Charles M. Ethier.
Funeral will be held on Friday, April 4th at 9AM from Cartier's Funeral Home, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA with visiting time from 9AM to 10:30AM at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM at St. Joan of Arc Church, 3357 Mendon Rd., Cumberland, RI. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.

I worked with Jim and Elaine at both the former John E. Fogarty Memorial Hospital and Landmark Medical Center. Jimmy was loved by everyone, patients and staff alike. If you accompanied a patient to Nuclear, you always knew you would be assisted and share in a joke or story with him. A kinder soul you would have great difficulty finding. Rest in peace Jim, Thank you for the care you provided to so many.

I had just seen Jim 3 days prior. I am so glad that we hugged that day.
Jim was a good friend to everyone he met.
