Jane E. Melanson

FRANKLIN - Jane E. (Harvey) Melanson 66, of Hillsboro, Texas died Tuesday November 24, 2015 at the Providence Healthcare Network in Waco, Texas following an illness. She was the wife of the late Joseph E. Melanson, who died in 2004.
Born July 11, 1949 in Milford, a daughter of the late James H. and Grace E. (Murphy) Harvey, she was a former longtime Franklin resident, before moving to Texas 10 years ago.
She was raised and educated in Franklin, and was a 1968 graduate of Franklin High School. For many years she worked at Milford Regional Medical Center as an emergency room sterilizer. She also worked at the Honey Dew Doughnuts on West Central St. Franklin.
While in Texas, she enjoyed ranching, raising Texas Longhorns, spending time with her family and was a member of the Cowboy Church in Hillsboro. She also attended St. Mary's Church, while living in Franklin.
Jane is survived by her children, Pollyanna J. Thibodeau of Texas, Stacy J. Dowden and her husband David of West Yarmouth, Robert J. Thibodeau of Douglas, Timothy P. Thibodeau and his wife Melissa of Douglas and Cathy L. Vaillant of Florida, 2 brothers, James Harvey of Mendon, Timothy Harvey of Blackstone, 4 sisters, Elaine Nixon of Colorado, Francis Griffin of Taunton, Patricia Webb of Foxboro, Kathleen Harvey of New Mexico and 10 grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Sat. Dec. 5th, at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St., followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, Franklin at 10AM.
Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
Calling hours are Friday from 4-8PM at the funeral home.
