Jeanne Marie Murphy

CUMBERLAND - Jeanne Marie Murphy, 81, of Cumberland passed away peacefully on Friday, surrounded by her family in the Hope Hospice & Palliative Care Center, Providence. She was the wife of the late John P. Murphy Sr.

Born in Medway, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Helen (Ostrosky) Paulette and she was also the step-daughter of the late Clyde Wallace. She resided in Cumberland for the past 53 years, previously living in Medway. She was a Registered Nurse employed at the former Woonsocket Hospital now Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket for 35 years. She was a communicant of St. John Vianney Church, Cumberland.

She is survived by her children; Kathleen A. DiModica and her husband Paul of Cumberland; John P. Murphy Jr., and his wife Jill of South Kingstown; Paul M. Murphy and his wife Linda of Smithfield and Laurie A. Vicente and her husband Roy of Cumberland; her sister Helen Paulette of Palm Springs, Calif., her brothers Frederick Paulette of Medway, and Richard Paulette of Florida and five grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Charles Paulette and Geraldine Chianese.

A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. from the J.J. Duffy Funeral Home, Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. John Vianney Church, 3609 Diamond Hill Road Cumberland. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4-7 p.m.
