John Rowey Obituary
John loved to be among his friends and family; and in his earlier days, enjoyed traveling with his wife.
John worked most of his life as a mechanic and truck driver, driving heavy equipment while enlisted in the U.S. Army and then for his father's business, Rowey Trucking Co., Inc. He was also a member of the VFW, and the Rhode Island and American Trucking Associations.
He is survived by his brother Anthony and wife, Fadia (Al-Onaini) Rowey. He also leaves behind his niece/Goddaughter Mary Ann Tardif and her husband, Brian, his nephew Anthony (AJ) Rowey, Jr., and his great nephew, Jeffrey Tardif.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Peter and Ralph Rowey, Jr.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Egidio DiPardo & Sons Funeral Home, 75 Harris Avenue, Woonsocket.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, March 28, 2023, from 4:00PM-7:00PM in Saint Basil the Great Melkite Greek Catholic Church, 15 Skyview Drive, Lincoln, RI 02865. A Service will be held on March 29, 2023, at 10:00 AM in the church, with burial to follow in St.Jean the Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham, MA.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of John can be made to HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center, 1085 N. Main Street, Providence, RI 02904, or the St. Basil the Great Building Fund. www.brownfuneralhomes.com
