Dear Gendron Family, I am also very sorry to hear about Joe's passing a short time ago. He was a very welcoming neighbor who quickly became a friend. His rescue after being shot down of the island of trunk in WWII was amazing. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Uncle Joey was a mans' man,who had all daughters. Like most vets who return from war ,my dad included, they rarely talked about it. When I was very young he gave me his leather goggles from when he was a gunner. I ran all over the house shooting everything with those goggles on. We went swimming and I wore them in the water and ruined them. My mom made me tell him what I did and he just rubbed my head and laughed. When I became a navy fighter pilot I am sure he was proud. He will be missed.

What a great man Uncle Joe was to me! I will always treasure the memories of him. My condolences to Denise, Wendy, Jody and Patty and families. I suspect he is smiling and holding Aunt Del in the presence of Jesus and is filled with peace at last!
