Joyce Newton Obituary

WOONSOCKET - Joyce Newton, 70, of Woonsocket died Friday June 26, 2015 at home surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of Kenneth G. Newton, Sr. They were married on November 6, 1965.
Born in Woonsocket she was a daughter of the late Tom and Janet (Paquin) Gill. She was raised in Bellingham and resided in Woonsocket for most of her adult life. In her earlier years she worked at American Tourister in Woonsocket and Albion, the Cumberland Farms warehouse and Porter Shoe in Milford. She was later employed by Guilford of Maine in East Douglas for 15 years until her retirement.
Joyce will be remembered as a loving mother and cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband of 49 years she is survived by two sons Kenneth G. Newton, Jr. (Debbie Lataille-Newton) and Wayne A. Newton and a daughter Jo-Ann M. Westgate (Raymond) all of Woonsocket. She was the sister of Ken Gill of North Attleboro, Roland Gill of VT, Alice Lizotte of FL., Janice Gentelli and Joan Fontaine both of Woonsocket and the late Tom and Leo Gill and Shirley Marcotte. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren Amy Lynn Newton, Sarah-Ann Newton, Samantha Westgate and Megan Newton and three great-grandchildren Illianna, Calleigh-May and Chase and many nieces and nephews and their families.
Visiting hours will be Thursday from 5-8 pm in the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket with a service at 8:00 pm. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Beacon Hospice, 1 Catamore Blvd., East Providence, RI. 02914. www.menardfuneralhome.com
